The geometric-abstract painting of Rita Ernst (*1956) has been revitalised in the last five or six years by dynamic line structures - and one is tempted to speak of "perspective angles". This is not entirely wrong: the works entitled "Neue Weite" and "Spazio", for example, which are part of Ernst's first solo exhibition with us, are based on self-photographed, architectural shadows, translating the interplay of light and space into colourful fields of intersecting grids.
