Silvano Clemente Rovati began working in Rome in the early 60s, influenced by the artistic currents that found fertile ground and intellectual ferment, he embarked on a production of tapestries, which he created with reference to certain masters of the national scene - Cagli, Burri and Afro- and international such as Matisse, to whom he paid direct homage in his work.
He builds his own high-quality looms, with which he carries out his production. He develops tapestries applied to his designs, characterized by combinations of shapes and colors apparently inspired by floral motifs that he calls "cells". The amorphous patches of color are suspended on flat patches of color, sometimes conceptualized with geometric shapes that incorporate or juxtapose each other.
In other cases, architectural geometries carve out and differentiate spaces, where colored cells remain suspended from overlapping geometric shapes.
